BECCO DI BUNSEN
Si tratta di un "fornelletto" a gas realizzato nella metà del 1800.
Usato inizialmente nei laboratori di chimica, in seguito fu potenziato per aumentarne la resa calorica e venne introdotto anche nell'oreficeria.
La saldatura viene fatta a "bocca", soffiando con una cannuccia di ottone sulla fiamma per darle forza affinchè raggiunga la temperatura di fusione.
Ai giorni nostri l'artigiano ha a disposizionela saldatrice a cannello e la moderna saldatrice a laser.
TRAPANO AD ARCHETTO
La preparazione dell'incastonatura di un gioiello comincia con un foro.
Oggi nei laboratori troviamo un trapano elettrico, ma già nell'antica Roma fu ideato un trapano manuale ad "archetto" che veniva utilizzato per lavori particolarmente delicati e in gioielleria.
